In 2025, women in construction are no longer the exception — they’re leading the transformation.

According to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, over 1.34 million women now work in construction across the U.S., making up 11.2% of the total workforce. That’s a historic high, up from 9.3% in 2002. And the momentum is accelerating. Celebrating September 15-19, 2025.
This isn’t just a statistic — it’s a signal. A signal that the trades, once considered off-limits or impractical for women, are now becoming spaces of innovation, leadership, and opportunity.
“Companies have started launching targeted programs to attract more women,” says Vicky Clemens, Construction Manager at Anthony & Sylvan Pools.
Utah’s Rising Force of Female Tradespeople
Here in Utah, women make up over 40% of the state’s labor force, with increasing visibility in skilled trades, design, and construction management. From Park City to Holladay, women are entering roles in:
- Cabinetry and millwork
- Electrical and lighting design
- Plumbing and mechanical systems
- Architecture and project management
At All Arden, we’ve seen this shift firsthand. Our collaborations with women-led design firms and subcontractors have elevated the craftsmanship and storytelling behind every project. Whether sourcing materials from Austria or building luxury interiors in Heber, women are bringing precision, creativity, and leadership to the table.
The Trades Are Changing — And That’s Good for Everyone
The number of female carpenters has grown by 133% since 2015. Female construction managers are up 166%. These aren’t just numbers — they’re proof that the industry is evolving.
“We saw a massive labor shift in the past few years… people are more open to industries they hadn’t previously considered,” says Whitney Hill, CEO of SnapADU.
This openness is creating space for women to thrive in roles that were once off-limits. And it’s not just about inclusion — it’s about innovation. Diverse teams build better, design smarter, and connect more deeply with clients.
What This Means for Luxury Design
High-net-worth clients are increasingly seeking design partners who reflect their values — craftsmanship, authenticity, and vision. Women in construction bring all three. From custom cabinetry to architectural detailing, their influence is shaping the future of luxury interiors.
At All Arden, we’re proud to be part of this movement. Our upcoming Park City Showroom showcases work from women-led teams, and our network includes female contractors, designers and suppliers who are redefining excellence. We believe in elevating craftsmanship, storytelling, and collaboration — and that means opening doors for everyone who brings vision and skill to the table.
